If you need to extend them with plugins/extensions to get the features you need, I don’t think either is very user friendly; but if you’re choosing among those because you want to use an open source program, I would go with WordPress. I prefer to use WordPress just for blogging, and UltimateWB for websites, which is very user friendly. You can build any type of website with it. With WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla you have to be very careful about increased security risks, possible slower page load speeds, and upgrade compatibility issues that break your website functionalities due to third party plugins added to your website.
