Switching from Frontpage to Ultimate Web Builder, with GoDaddy web hosting/domain name

I just renewed my GoDaddy hosting and Domain name for another five years. However, I built my website with MS Frontpage, which has been discontinued, and during a clean install a while back, I never reinstalled FrontPage. My website is pretty badly out of date and I want to redo it. Of course, GoDaddy encouraged me to use their Website-builder (at a monthly charge of course), but I think I would prefer to purchase and use Ultimate Web Builder. I think the disadvantage is that I'd have to take down my existing website before I could begin rebuilding it with UltimateWB. Or is there a way I could build it offline, and only replace my existing site after the new one is ready?

You can install Ultimate Web Builder in a sub folder on your web hosting, and then when you are ready to go with your new website, you can switch the install of Ulitmate Web Builder to your main root folder.  We can help you with the switch from your sub folder to your root folder if you need any help.

Also, you should check with GoDaddy if your web hosting plan allows to create a subfolder, and add files to it (i.e. install UltimateWB on it).  Depending on your plan, considering that you are using it with their website builder, they may not allow it.

I am not thinking of using the GoDaddy website builder. I am considering using your Ultimate Web Builder instead.

I mean because you were using their GoDaddy website builder, your web hosting might not allow to create subfolders/upload files.  If that is the case, you could purchase a new web hosting there (and make sure it is compatible with Ultimate Web Builder, server requirements page: https://www.ultimatewb.com/server-requirements , by emailing them the link to that.  We do also provide web hosting packages at UltimateWB: https://www.ultimatewb.com/domain-names-web-hosting .  All UltimateWB web hosting packages come with free professional installation of the software on your server (still requires separate purchase of the software however).

I am not using the GoDaddy website builder and never have. My web site was implemented using the now unsupported MS FrontPage program. I believe when I created my web pages, the GoDaddy Website Builder had not been created. I had to FTP my website up to the GoDaddy server. It has been so long since I worked on it, I'm not certain what method I should use today. I have also considered using the free WordPress software, but I am evaluating the possibility that Ultimate Web Builder (probably Lite) would be easier to use and meet the requirements for redesigning my website. I am still looking at your tutorials and trying to better understand your product. Is there a PDF User Manual? (Yeah, I'm an old-fashioned guy who likes to read the manuals :-D ). But, I haven't had time to peruse all your online stuff yet.

If I do buy your product (fairly likely at this point), I like the idea of getting your assistance in getting it installed on my GoDaddy host so I know it is set up properly for me to proceed.

Thanks for the clarification.  So, probably your GoDaddy web hosting should be ok then to use with Ultimate Web Builder software.  You can just email them the server requirements page, https://www.ultimatewb.com/server-requirements , to check/make sure if you still want to use their web hosting.

Another option you have is, if you would like to use UltimateWB web hosting, as you were using Frontpage, we can move your current website files to your UltimateWB web hosting account, to the root, so that your current website is accessible from your domain name .  Then we can install the Ultimate Web Builder software you purchase to a sub folder, so you can build your new design there, while still having your current website online too.  Then, when you’re ready with your new website, we can switch it over to your server root folder, so that it is accessible from your domain name.

We currently do not provide the user manual in pdf format.  We have the user manual topics at https://www.ultimatewb.com/user-manual-how-to-guide , quick how-to guide at https://www.ultimatewb.com/quick-how-to-guide , and video tutorials at https://www.ultimatewb.com/video-tutorials (all under the Resources tab on the UltimateWB website).

Let me be sure I understand. I  have just extended my GoDaddy hosting (and Domain Name) for five years. GoDaddy provides my host server. When you say "if I would like to use UltimateWB web hosting..." that I would cancel my GoDaddy account and switch to an UltimateWB server, or do you mean that the UltimateWB server side software would be running on the GoDaddy server? Please excuse me for not being completely savvy about some of these terms.

If it would mean changing from a GoDaddy account to UltimateWB, I'm not sure what cancellation arrangements are possible with GoDaddy. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a love affair with GoDaddy or anything, but I did just pay them for a 5 year extension and I'm not sure if I can back out of it without a penalty.

The UltimateWB web hosting would be instead of the GoDaddy web hosting.  Most likely you could just use the UltimateWB software with your web hosting on GoDaddy, if you do want to stay with GoDaddy.  You should just make sure with them by emailing them the server requirements link https://www.ultimatewb.com/server-requirements .  We have had customers using UltimateWB software with GoDaddy web hosting successfully.

You can compare with our web hosting packages at https://www.ultimatewb.com/domain-names-web-hosting .  With all UltimateWB web hosting packages we provide free professional installation of the software on your server (still requires separate purchase of the software though).

For installing the UltimateWB software on your server yourself, we do have detailed instructions and also a video tutorial at https://www.ultimatewb.com/installation .  Plus we do provide free tech support if you need help.
